AHPRA enforces the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law, are in forced in each state and territory of Australia. If your film production is providing a nurse or paramedic service, it is your legal obligation to ensure that your staff are registered to practice. National health practitioner registration is important because it protects your liability. It helps to keep your cast and crew safe by ensuring that only those who are suitably trained and qualified are registered. There are 15 national boards that comprise AHPRA. Together, these boards define the registration standards that practitioners must comply with. Once registered, practitioners must continue to meet these high standards to renew their registration yearly. AHPRA registration is also recognised nationally. If you represent an interstate or offshore production, registration can provide assurance of a local or visiting health practitioner’s ability. AHPRA provides an online register of all registered health practitioners in Australia.
