The Ferno Model 71 Rescue Basket Stretcher is a professional-grade patient transport and rescue device designed for demanding emergency, technical rescue, industrial, and remote area operations across Australia. Constructed from a high-density polyethylene shell supported by a permanently attached heavy-duty aluminium frame, the Ferno 71 delivers exceptional strength, durability, and reliable patient handling in the harshest environments.

Resistant to chemicals, UV exposure, rust, and corrosion, the Model 71 is built for long-term performance in marine, mining, industrial, and outdoor rescue settings. Moulded runners and integrated handholds improve manoeuvrability during extraction and transport, while brass grommets allow compatibility with Ferno adjustable lifting bridles for helicopter and vertical rescue operations. A replaceable internal mattress enhances patient comfort during transport. Supplied standard with four quick-release two-piece patient restraints (orange).

Available in two configurations: the FWE71 One-Piece for standard deployment, and the FWE71S Split (Two-Piece) which separates into two nesting halves for compact storage and backpack transport to remote or confined rescue sites — quickly assembled and secured with locking pins when deployed.
